Shore Serenity San Tropez - Andre Beronneau
Andre Beronneau (1896-1975) was born in Bordeaux and attended the Julian Art School in Paris. The Frenchman gained notoriety for his bright and luscious landscapes of Provence and Southern Brittany. He was an active exhibitor at the Salon des Independants between 1926-1936, with many of his works being well received. He was subsequently elected to the Society of Frence Artists, in 1951. The piece we offer here is truly eye-catching - with lively brush and palette knife work and his characteristic love of color is evident. Oil on board, it is is larger in scale, and will make quite a statement wherever it is hung. Signed lower left in original frame, with the location on verso.
