Original series of Scottish chromolithographs capturing a wide range of hummingbirds. The set, dates 1837, was published in Edinburgh. Drawn by Sir William Jardine (1800-1874), each is hand colored (these are not reproductions). Jardine was a Scottish Naturalist from Edinburgh, known for his expansive publication “The Naturalist’s Library” of 40 volumes. Each plate measures 4”X6”. Condition very good. We currently have more in inventory; these are a representation of the range of beautiful hummingbirds from that collection.
