Quai des Bouquinistes - Georges Guerin
Georges Guerin (1910-1965) was a French artist, born in Brittany. He moved to Paris to study his craft, being accepted into the Julien Art School. Known for his impasto work, primarily of scenes of Brittany and Provence. He also opend a studio in Paris, and painted scenes of the city as well - of which this scene of the bookmarket at Pont Neuf is a fine example. This is oil on canvas, signed lower right in the original frame which suits the work perfectly.
