Frederick Whitehead 1853 to 1938 was English, born in Leamington Spa. The artist studied under Richard Rothwell and later John Burgess. He was also influenced by Thomas Baker. Whitehead attended the Leamington School of Art and later the Academie Julian. He was a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1881 and 1893.
