Shipping off the Coast - William P. Rogers
This excellent work is by William P. Rogers, an accomplished Irish artist who flourished from 1942-1883. Known for his coastal subjects and mastery of illustrating both sea and sky, he studied at the Royal Dublin Society's Drawing School, where he won first prize for oil painting in both 1850 and 1852. he exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin between 1848 and 1872 - a span of nearly 30 years! This classical work is oil on can vase, signed lower left in it's original frame.
