This oil on board, signed lower left, in it’s fabulous original frame, is by Louis Bonamici (1878-1966). Born in Livorno, Italy, he bagan painting seriously while still a child. Much influenced by Adolphe Monticelli, he employed the palette knife technique. He as admitted to teh Milan Art School, and later moved to Venice where he began his professional art career in earnest. Between 1907 and 1935 Bonamici exhibited regularly in Paris, In 1923 he was invited to exhibit in the US, where his works were exhibitioned in San Francisto, Los Angeles and New York.
