Brittany Church - Georges Guerin
Georges Guerin (1910-1965) was a French artist, born in Brittany. He moved to Paris to study his craft, being accepted into the Julien Art School. Known for his impasto work, primarily scenes of Brittany and Provence. Often returning to his roots, he retained Brittany as a main source of inspiration. He produced excellent work from the region - of which this church is a fine example! He also opend a studio in Paris, and painted scenes of the city as well. This is oil on board, signed lower left in the original frame which suits the work perfectly.
