Martiques - Henri Olive
French painter Henri Olive (1889-1980) was a French artist best known for his scenes of the Cote d’Azure. This oil on board, signed lower left, boasts a completely unique and decidedly elaborate original frame. He was prolific between 1930 to 1940, then again after the end of WWII until 1950. Also known as Olive des Martigues, the painter is immediately recognizable due to his heavy impasto texturing combined with the brightest of colors.
