Red Poppy Fields - Riccardo Chirici
Riccardo Chirici is Italian, born in Livorno, 1959. He bagan painting in 1973 as a self-taught artisti, but then attended the Livorno Art School “Trossi Uberti”, directed by master Voltolino Fontani. Chirici was influenced by Walter Cecchi from whom he learned the engraving technique, often used in his works. In 1991 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, and later won the 1st prize inthe City of Livorno art contest. Today his works are highly collectible for their vibrant capture of nature in his native country. Oil on board, signed lower left. Note dynamic brush work in the signature photo.
