Triel sur Seine - Georges Ferro Lagree
This Georges Lagree oil on canvas is signed lower right and sits in original frame. Born in Poissy, France, he was originally trained in music and engineering. Upon discovering French impressionism, he threw himself into painting and launched his art career in earnest. Lagree developed a very unique post-impressionist style which earned him numerous mentions and medals at various Paris Art Shows. Appreciation spanned beyond the French borders, however, where he was well received at exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Tokyo and Geneva. His frech and colorful style have cemented him as one of the 1980’s leading European post-impressionist artists, and this is a fine (and larger scale) example of why his work is so collectible. When viewing the work, it is easy to detect his assertive use of the palette kife in the foreground, balanced by the soft touch of the brush to bring mood to both the trees we see first, and the sky our eye is drawn to last.
Measurements with frame 35”X30”, without frame 28”X23”.
Condition: Very Good.
