Thomas Mostyn 1864 to 1930, was English born in Liverpool. He studied at the Manchester Academy of Fine Art. He exhibited at the Royal Academy by the time he was 29 years of age, having entered the school of Sir Hubert Von Herkomer in 1893 where he mastered the realist style. After World War I, his style evolved to impressionism which captured garden and forest scenes, and for which he became famous. This is a painting he produced during that period.  He held several solo exhibition at the Fine Art Society during the 1920s, and was a member of the New Society of Artists. This oil on canvas is signed lower left with framer label on verso.
