Frenchman Jean Kevorkian (b. 1933) is considered one of France's most successful contemporary painters, and we are delighted to be able to offer this work. A self-taught artists, he spent a great deal of time in Brittany, particularly in St. Malo and Cape Finistere. His marine subjects are drawn primarily from this region, as is the case with this painting. In 1978, 1980 and 1981 he received multiple awards fromthe Paris Art Salons, In 1980 he was awarded the "Dimplome d'Honneur" in the field of painting, Today is works are present in many private collections and museums. This lovely work is larger, and bears an inscription on verso. In the original frame, it is oil on canvas, signed lower right.
